Our medicinal herb gardens

The three herb gardens represent the historical development of medical and healing plant applications. Numerous examples from three different eras let this come alive.

You should not miss to discover a medieval monastery garden from the 9th century which is based on ancient sources as to the healing effect. A Renaissance garden from the 16th century combines the tradition of classical species with plants from the New World and shows a selection of ornamental plants, kitchen herbs, poisonous plants, and vegetables. The third garden is a rural cottage Kneipp garden where the plants of the Kneipp medicine cabinet are complemented by medicinal plants which play an important role in modern herbal medicine (phytotherapy).
